Cornerstore is a restaurant in Amsterdam-Noord with a focus on East-Asian flavors and a vibrant, dynamic atmosphere.
Guests can choose from a vegetable focussed set menu (7-10 kitchen dishes with meat/fish options to add) or a la carte dishes.
We mostly use organically and bio dynamically grown products.

Summary of the position and duties (junior chef)
The junior chef is responsible for assisting in the creation of the menu and the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You are ambitious, decisive, flexible, you can improvise well, but you are also accurate and reliable.
Responsibilities
- responsible for quality control of dishes
- responsible for creating new dishes together with head chef
- responsible for introduction/training/stimulation of operating and kitchen staff
- responsible for good relationship with kitchen staff
- responsible for creating and improving a pleasant and safe working atmosphere
- responsible for a hospitable appearance of himself and colleagues to guests
- responsible for reporting any bottlenecks on time to board
- responsible for implementing agreements and achieving set goals (quantitative and qualitative)
- responsible for professional communication with suppliers of products and services
Tasks
- creating and updating recipes in the drive
- keep track of orders and ensure that stock is in order
- organize and clean kitchen/storage/freezer
- responsible for enforcing rules regarding neighbors/municipality (windows/music/terrace etc.)
- proactively manage for a good mutual atmosphere between colleagues
